Bending, Breaking, Blaming:
Negotiations with Games

We’re so excited to welcome you to FDG 2027.

FDG, the International Conference on the Foundations of Digital Games, is an interdisciplinary academic conference for research on games, game technologies, game play, and game design. We warmly invite researchers, industry experts, and educators to share insights and cutting-edge results through our program of papers, posters, demos, games, workshops, panel discussions, and doctoral consortium.

The 2027 conference theme is: "Breaking, Blaming: Negotiations with Games”. This theme asks researchers to consider negotiations broadly, including, but not limited to negotiation mechanics in gameplay, cheating and transgressive play behaviours, the various technologies used to modify and mitigate games, and the social-cultural negotiations of games and gaming communities.
